Free 1:1 health coaching for every Mapfre employee and adult dependent. On the medical plan? Add GLP-1 care from an independent licensed clinician for $150 a month.
Starts January 1, 2027.

A trained health coach works with you 1:1 on habits, nutrition, sleep, and more. Free for every Mapfre employee and adult dependent.
Build routines that feel natural, not restrictive, with guidance tailored to your goals and lifestyle.
For medical plan members: GLP-1s prescribed by an independent licensed clinician if determined appropriate, at the lowest effective dose, with a plan to taper when clinically appropriate.
Your coach helps you build the tools to keep your results, including after you step down from medication.
Other programs often rely on medication alone or push short-term fixes. Embla starts with behavior change and uses medication responsibly, so the results last.

Coaching is the core. You'll get real human support to help build and stick with habits that fit your real life.

Medication is prescribed by an independent licensed clinician at the lowest effective dose, with medical monitoring, and paired with coaching from day one.

In our published study, most members stepped down from medication. When it's clinically appropriate, your independent clinician guides the step-down gradually, while your coach helps you hold on to your results.

Weight is only part of it. Members often report better sleep, more energy, and improvements in markers like blood pressure.
You can move over to Embla from December 1, 2026, a month before everyone else. An independent licensed clinician reviews where you are today.
You don't start over. Embla picks up where you are and adds a coach who helps you build habits that hold.
A clinician reviews your current treatment. An independent licensed clinician works to help avoid a gap in your treatment. If your current medication isn't offered through Embla, they'll talk through options with you.
One flat cost. On the Mapfre medical plan, EmblaThriveMD is $150 a month for coaching, clinical care and medication, whichever medication is prescribed. Mapfre pays the rest.
Up to 12 covered months. Mapfre covers up to 12 months of EmblaThriveMD per person. Time on a GLP-1 before you join doesn't count. After that, coaching stays free through EmblaThrive.
You gain a coach. 1:1 support on nutrition, movement, sleep, and mindset, plus unlimited chat in the Embla app.
You get a plan for later. When it's clinically appropriate, your clinician and coach help you step down gradually. Only when you're ready, never before.
Your privacy holds. Mapfre never learns that you were on a GLP-1, that you enrolled, or how you're doing. Only how many people signed up.
Taking a GLP-1 for diabetes? This doesn't apply to you. GLP-1s prescribed for diabetes are not part of Embla.
All medication decisions, including any changes to your current prescription or dose, are made solely by an independent licensed clinician following a medical evaluation.

Embla isn't about quick fixes. It's about helping you feel better, lose weight, and keep the results for the long term. Results below are from the TRIM study, Embla's own published research (2,694 participants, 64-week follow-up). Individual results vary.
On average, study participants lost about one-sixth of their body weight over the 64-week study period.
Most participants stepped down from GLP-1s, with coaching designed to help them keep their results.
Participants used lower doses than standard protocols. Lower doses can mean fewer side effects.
Members report improved energy, sleep, blood pressure, and overall wellbeing.
Testimonials reflect individual experiences of verified Embla members. Individual results vary and are not typical for every participant. Weight loss depends on many factors including engagement, adherence, baseline health, and whether medication is prescribed by an independent licensed clinician.

There are two ways in, depending on your coverage:
Coaching (EmblaThrive): any Mapfre employee or adult dependent (18+). You don't need to be on the Mapfre medical plan.
Coaching plus medication (EmblaThriveMD): Mapfre employees and adult dependents (18+) enrolled in the Mapfre medical plan, with a BMI of 30+, or a BMI of 27+ with at least one weight-related condition such as hypertension, prediabetes, dyslipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease, or osteoarthritis. If you already take a GLP-1 for weight loss, different criteria may apply. Your coach will confirm. An independent licensed clinician will make the final determination. Not all participants will qualify.
Embla is here to support you, but your commitment is what makes the program work. To get the best results (and keep your spot in the program), you'll need to:
Complete a short online health screening
For medication, be evaluated by an independent licensed clinician. Not all participants will qualify.

Physicians and nurse practitioners licensed in your state, working with an independent medical practice. They review your history, decide whether GLP-1 treatment is appropriate, set your dose, monitor your progress, and decide if and when to step down. Coaches support your habits. They don't prescribe or make medical decisions.
You keep them. Embla doesn't replace your primary care doctor or specialists. If you join EmblaThriveMD, an independent licensed clinician through Embla manages your GLP-1 prescription for weight loss, and your own doctor cares for everything else. We recommend letting your doctor know you've joined.
Yes. Mapfre only sees how many people enrolled. They don't see who enrolled, whether you were already on a GLP-1, what you discuss with your coach, which medication you're on, or your weight progress. Your health information stays between you, your coach, and your independent licensed clinician.
Stay active in coaching and check in regularly in the app. If you're on medication, continued prescriptions depend on staying engaged. Your care team will guide you.
Most members connect with their coach 2 to 4 times a month. You also have unlimited chat access through the app. Weight care is long-term, and results build over months, not weeks.
