1:1 health coaching, plus GLP-1 care if an independent licensed clinician prescribes it, at no cost to you. For Everus employees and family members (18+) on the Everus medical plan.
Starts January 1, 2027.

A trained health coach works with you 1:1 on habits, nutrition, sleep, and more, in English or Spanish. At no cost to you.
Build routines that feel natural, not restrictive, with guidance tailored to your goals and lifestyle.
If you qualify: GLP-1s prescribed by an independent licensed clinician if determined appropriate, at the lowest effective dose, with a plan to taper when clinically appropriate. Covered by Everus.
Your coach helps you build the tools to keep your results, including after you step down from medication.
Other programs often rely on medication alone or push short-term fixes. Embla starts with behavior change and uses medication responsibly, so the results last.

Coaching is the core. You'll get real human support to help build and stick with habits that fit your real life.

Medication is prescribed by an independent licensed clinician at the lowest effective dose, with medical monitoring, and paired with coaching from day one.

In our published study, most members stepped down from medication. When it's clinically appropriate, your independent clinician guides the step-down gradually, while your coach helps you hold on to your results.

Weight is only part of it. Members often report better sleep, more energy, and improvements in markers like blood pressure.
Real employees share what changed for them, from the doubts they started with to the habits that finally stuck.
“I can't believe I've become this person that actively makes better choices.”
“I thought I was weak. I was wrong.”
“I'll admit, I originally thought having to speak with a coach would be inconvenient and not very helpful. But I've been pleasantly surprised.”

“We were initially a bit apprehensive about the GLP medications, but we were encouraged by how they were positioned as one resource in the overall journey, not the only solution.”

“I'm surprising myself. I never thought I'd be this consistent with something, because usually I started something then went back to how I was used to doing it.”

“My coach consistently checks in, even outside of scheduled coaching sessions, listens without judgment, and provides encouragement whenever I am feeling discouraged.”

From January 1, 2027, GLP-1 medications for weight loss are no longer covered through the Everus medical plan. They're covered through Embla instead, together with a coach. Sign up in December so there's time to get set up before January 1.
A clinician reviews your current treatment. An independent licensed clinician works to help avoid a gap in your treatment. If your current medication isn't offered through Embla, they'll talk through options with you.
No cost to you. Everus covers EmblaThriveMD in full, including coaching, clinical care and medication.
You gain a coach. 1:1 support on nutrition, movement, sleep, and mindset, plus unlimited chat in the Embla app.
You get a plan for later. When it's clinically appropriate, your clinician and coach help you step down gradually. Only when you're ready, never before.
Your privacy holds. Your coaching conversations and medical records stay between you, your coach and your independent licensed clinician. Everus receives the billing information needed to run the benefit.
Taking a GLP-1 for diabetes? This doesn't apply to you. GLP-1s prescribed for diabetes are not part of Embla.
All medication decisions, including any changes to your current prescription or dose, are made solely by an independent licensed clinician following a medical evaluation.

Our behavior-first model drives real changes early. Even before major weight loss, members report noticeable gains in day-to-day wellbeing.
Members in the TRIM study lost an average of 16.7% body weight over 64 weeks, using less than half the standard maximum GLP-1 dose.
56% of members reported relief from existing physical pain after 10 weeks
83% rated their self-confidence 4 out of 5 after just
10 weeks.
83% rated their productivity 4 out of 5 in the past month.
32% say their sleep quality improved after starting on the program.

There are two ways in:
Coaching (EmblaThrive): Everus employees and family members (18+) on the Everus medical plan, with a BMI of 30+, or a BMI of 27+ with at least one weight-related condition.
Coaching plus medication (EmblaThriveMD): Everus employees and family members (18+) on the Everus medical plan, with a BMI of 30+, or a BMI of 27+ with at least one weight-related condition such as hypertension, prediabetes, dyslipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease, or osteoarthritis. If you already take a GLP-1 for weight loss, different criteria may apply. Your coach will confirm. An independent licensed clinician will make the final determination. Not all participants will qualify.
Embla is here to support you, but your commitment is what makes the program work. To get the best results (and keep your spot in the program), you'll need to:
Complete a short online health screening
For medication, be evaluated by an independent licensed clinician. Not all participants will qualify.
Meet with your coach at least twice a month and check in regularly in the Embla app. If you're on GLP-1 medication, this is required to keep your coverage.

No. The change applies to GLP-1s prescribed for weight loss. If you take a GLP-1 for diabetes, keep working with your current doctor, and contact HR with any questions about your coverage.
Everus employees and family members (18+) enrolled in the Everus medical plan, with a BMI of 30+, or a BMI of 27+ with at least one weight-related condition. If you already take a GLP-1 for weight loss, different criteria may apply. An independent licensed clinician makes the final determination.
Yes. Family members (18+) enrolled in the Everus medical plan can join on the same terms as employees.
No. Medication is only prescribed if an independent licensed clinician determines it is appropriate for you following a medical evaluation. Not all participants will qualify. Treatment decisions are made solely by your licensed provider.
Brand-name and compounded GLP-1 medications. Which one, if any, depends on what your independent licensed clinician determines is appropriate for you. Everus covers your medication in full.
Physicians and nurse practitioners licensed in your state, working with an independent medical practice. They review your history, decide whether GLP-1 treatment is appropriate, set your dose, monitor your progress, and decide if and when to step down. Coaches support your habits. They don't prescribe or make medical decisions.
You keep them. Embla doesn't replace your primary care doctor or specialists. If you join EmblaThriveMD, an independent licensed clinician you connect with through Embla manages your GLP-1 prescription for weight loss, and your own doctor cares for everything else. We recommend letting your doctor know you've joined.
Your coaching conversations, medical details and weight progress stay between you, your coach, and your independent licensed clinician. Everus receives the billing information needed to run the benefit.
Meet with your coach at least twice a month and check in regularly in the app. If you're on GLP-1 medication, keeping your Everus coverage depends on those two sessions a month. Your care team will help you schedule them.
Most members connect with their coach 2 to 4 times a month. You also have unlimited chat access through the app. Weight care is long-term, and results build over months, not weeks.
